Frequent
Questions
As operations people, we like to keep things pretty simple. But you may still have a question to ask. If your question isn't answered below, get in touch.
Who can join the Club?
The Cha Cha Club is an invite-only Club for full-time ResearchOps professionals who do not work for a research vendor. Still not sure if you're eligible? Our eligibility criteria should make things clear. If you're still unsure, reach out.
As part of the application process, you'll be asked to provide proof of your employment, unless that information is easily obtained via publicly available sources like LinkedIn. The Club will endeavor to give good reason for the denial of a membership application. However, the Club withholds the right to deny access to the Club and its services without explanation.
Is membership approval fair and unbiased?
Membership applications are reviewed by a group of Club members. This helps us to keep the application process as transparent, fair, and unbiased as possible.
What is the annual membership fee and how is it used?
The annual Club membership fee is US$350 per year. Tax charges are dependent on your currency. The membership fee is used to fund the day-to-day running of the Club and one project each year that evolves the practice of ResearchOps.
Do you offer team memberships?
Yes! We love having a whole team onboard. We offer the following team discounts:
- 5 to 9 members from the same team receives a discount of 5%
- 10 to 19 members from the same team receives a discount of 10%
- 20 or more members from the same team receives a discount of 20%
The annual team membership fee must be paid in a single transaction. Your annual renewal fee may change based on the number of members that you renew on your team. If a member leaves the team, memberships seats are transferrable but new members must meet our application criteria. Our Club Rules apply to all types of memberships, including Cha Cha Teams.
Will I get an invoice?
Once you're approved to join the Club and you pay the membership fee, you'll receive an invoice by email so that you can submit an expense claim.
What should I do if I can't afford the membership fee?
To make sure that the Club remains diverse and inclusive, every year we offer ten discounted Cha Cha Club memberships to people who need them. If you are a full-time ResearchOps professional and you can't afford the membership fee–perhaps you live in a country that trades in a less valuable currency or you're an existing member but you lost your job–you can ask for a Cha Cha Award.
To apply for a Cha Cha Award, please let us know that you need our support, and why. Our Club Rules apply to all types of memberships, including Cha Cha Awards.
